Giving Garden Program
Plan Ahead to Help Your Neighbor
Each spring, many will start preparing their yards for gardens. As you are turning over that soil, please consider planting a few extra rows for the Giving Garden.
The Giving Garden program provides fresh produce to needy residents. Home grown vegetables are such a nutritious supplement to the non-perishables from the food pantry. Many pantry recipients are unable to make their own garden because of where they live. Having a locally grown, perfectly ripened tomato is a wonderful treat!
If you don’t want to tackle a garden yourself, consider helping at a community garden or talk to your neighbors and cooperate by having one together. Every extra seed planted helps to make the Giving Garden grow!
