York Township has been Dan Kordik’s permanent address since he was 3 years old.  Dan grew up in Elmhurst and attended Elmhurst Public Schools. After graduating from York High School, he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, passed the CPA exam, and received his Law Degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. He has been a practicing attorney since 1984 and founded his own law firm in downtown Elmhurst in 1994.

Dan began his public service when he was appointed as a member of the Villa Park Elementary School District 45 Board of Education while still in his 20’s, and was subsequently elected and re-elected to the School Board.   Dan served as Vice-President of the School Board and received the designation of “Master Board Member” from the Illinois Association of School Boards as a 4 time achievement award winner for board service and leadership.  Thereafter Dan then served over a decade as a Villa Park Planning and Zoning Commissioner.  He also served on numerous citizens advisory committees and chaired the Villa Park Vision 2000 Committee which led to new streets and sewers.

Dan is a member of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce, as well as the DuPage County and Illinois State Bar Associations. He is a certified Arbitrator for the 18th Judicial Circuit in DuPage County.  He is a member and past President of the Elmhurst Lions Club and a former “Lion of the Year”. Dan serves as a lector at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park.

Dan raised his three children in Villa Park all of whom attended Villa Park Public Schools and Willowbrook High School.  Dan and his wife Sharen reside in Oak Brook.
