Township Supervisor
York Township Supervisor
The Township Supervisor is the township’s chief executive officer and serves as the primary leader responsible for managing day-to-day township operations. In Illinois, the Supervisor also acts as the township’s chief financial officer, overseeing township funds, financial reporting, budgeting, and the responsible use of public resources.
As Chair of the Township Board, the Supervisor works closely with trustees and other elected officials to carry out township programs, respond to community needs, and ensure township services are delivered efficiently and transparently.
In addition, Illinois law designates the Township Supervisor as the Supervisor of General Assistance, administering support programs for qualifying residents who may be facing financial hardship. The Supervisor serves as an important point of contact for residents and represents the township in partnerships with county agencies, community organizations, and neighboring governments.
